What is Title IX?

Title IX is a anti-discrimination law that states  "no person shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any academic, extracurricular, research, occupational training, or other education program or activity operated by a recipient which receives Federal financial assistance."

This law provides protections and rights for individuals involved in sexual harassment, sexual assault, or gender based discrimination while requiring all schools receiving federal funds to properly respond, investigate, and resolve Title IX claims.
